Legendary project girl group I.O.I has officially begun the countdown to their long-awaited reunion, with concrete plans now coming to light ahead of their 10th debut anniversary.
I.O.I consisting of Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Kim Chungha, Kim Sohye, Zhou Jieqiong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung was formed through Mnet’s hit survival show Produce 101. The group debuted in May 2016 and concluded their project activities in January 2017, making an explosive impact despite their brief one-year run.
With 2026 marking the group’s 10th anniversary, the members have reportedly come together with a shared determination to reunite as a full group. However, Kang Mina will be unable to participate in the reunion activities due to overlapping schedules with an upcoming drama and its promotional period.
Details about the reunion concert were subtly revealed during the December 22 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s Oh My Girl Hyojung’s Volume Up. Yoo Yeonjung responded to a listener’s question asking for spoilers about the reunion timing, saying, “We really wanted to prepare everything in secret and suddenly appear, but since our youngest Somi already talked about it quite a bit, many fans already know.”
She went on to confirm, “Yes, we are gathering. I can’t share the details, but the concert venue has already been booked.”
When pressed about the timing, Yoo Yeonjung added, “If we’re talking early, mid, or late in the year probably early to mid. Think of a warm spring. Since it’s such a meaningful 10th anniversary, we agreed not to do this half-heartedly. We’re preparing very seriously, so please look forward to it.”
The confirmation alone has ignited excitement among longtime fans, many of whom have waited nearly a decade to see I.O.I reunite on stage. With a venue secured and preparations underway, the group’s spring 2026 reunion concert is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated K-pop events of the year.
