Lee Do-hyun made his debut in tvN’s “Prison Playbook” by director Shin Won-ho in 2017. Through this drama, he greeted the public for the first time as the childhood of Jung Kyung-ho’s character. Later, Lee Do-hyun began making his face and name known to the public by starring in various dramas such as “Hotel Del Luna”, “18 Again”, “Sweet Home”, “Youth of May”, etc., then imprinted his presence in the industry with the success of “The Glory” and “The Good Bad Mother”.

Along with the popularity of his dramas, Lee Do-hyun also gained recognition for his good choices of scripts and perfect character transformations. Recently, the actor also debuted on the big screen with the movie “Exhuma”.

Released on February 22nd, “Exhuma” is an occult mystery movie about bizarre accidents involving shamans, a geomancer, and an undertaker as they agree to move a grave for money. Upon its premiere, “Exhuma” became a box office hit, and it has surpassed 5 million viewers as of March 2nd.

In this movie, Lee Do-hyun took on the role of Bong-gil, a rookie shaman who accompanies Hwa-rim (Kim Go-eun). The unpredictable development of the movie also created chances for the actor to showcase his passionate acting performances. Lee Do-hyun captivated viewers with his overwhelming charisma when playing the drums and leading the exorcism as well as his facial expressions and lines in the possessed scene.

Although Lee Do-hyun decided to enlist in the military in August last year in the middle of his heyday, fans are not upset thanks to the success of “Exhuma”. Moreover, the actor already hinted at his growth in an interview with My Daily before joining the army. At that time, Lee Do-hyun said, “I’ve wanted to enlist since a long time ago. It’s the place where I can meet various people from many places in our country. I think I can gain more experiences from socializing with them and make it a stepping stone for my acting in the future”.

He continued, “I’ve been acting without resting for 4-5 years and learned a lot from the strengths of others, but I did not have any opportunity to develop myself. In fact, I want to get rid of my young image and transform into a muscular actor after serving in the military. I also want to gain weight and lose weight to see how my face changes so that I cant play various characters after getting discharged”. 

Known as a passionate actor who knows nothing aside from acting, Lee Do-hyun is raising expectations for his future moves after his military discharge.
