On April 20, ILLIT‘s agency Belift Lab announced through the official fan community that Moka recently visited the hospital after experiencing health issues.
According to medical professionals, she requires ongoing treatment and sufficient rest, prompting the company to make the decision to pause her activities.
“Although the artist has a strong desire to continue promotions, we have determined that focusing on recovery is the top priority,” the agency stated.

Belift Lab confirmed that Moka will not participate in scheduled ILLIT activities for the time being, including upcoming promotions tied to their comeback.
They added that her return will be carefully evaluated: “Even if it takes time, we will review her recovery progress and inform you of her return at a later date.”
This cautious approach reflects a growing industry trend of prioritizing artist health over rigid promotional schedules.
ILLIT had been preparing to release their 4th mini album “MAMIHLAPINATAPAI” on April 30, making this announcement particularly sudden—arriving just 10 days before the comeback.
The group and agency now face difficult decisions regarding:
- Adjusting choreography and performances
- Redistributing parts among members
- Potential changes to promotional activities
Fans are closely watching to see how the comeback will proceed without one of the members.

The news has sparked concern among fans, many of whom are urging Moka to prioritize her health over returning too quickly. In recent years, the K-pop industry has increasingly acknowledged the importance of mental and physical well-being, with agencies more willing to pause activities when necessary.
For ILLIT, this moment represents both a challenge and a test of resilience as they move forward with their comeback under unexpected circumstances.
