iKON Bobby: “Separate singing career from personal life… Not neglect anything just like before”

iKON Bobby said that he is thoroughly separating his singing career from his personal life.

Bobby was asked about the influence of marriage and begetting a son on music activities at the press conference for iKON‘s fourth mini-album “FLASHBACK” held at YG Entertainment‘s new headquarters in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on the morning of May 3rd. In response, he confessed, “I’m trying to thoroughly separate iKON Bobby from the human Kim Ji-won. When working as iKON Bobby, I’ll do my best and not neglect anything just like before.”

Bobby, who announced premarital pregnancy and marriage at the same time in August last year, became a father a month later. At the time of the wedding announcement, Bobby said, “In fact, I’m happy to have a new family but I feel more sorry towards fans who will be shocked by this sudden news. I should have told you about this earlier, but I’m sorry for the delay because I was worried. To those who are confused and hurt by my announcement, I sincerely apologize to you. To fans and the members who have been waiting for iKON’s activities, I will try harder and do my best.”

Meanwhile, “FLASHBACK“, which iKON presents as a whole after a year and two months, contains iKON’s ever-changing charm as it means a technique that continuously shows instantaneous changes in scenes in a movie. Bobby wrote lyrics for all the songs on the album. Kim Dong-hyuk took part in composing and writing lyrics for “FOR REAL?” and “NAME“, while Kim Jin-hwan composed “DRAGON“.

iKON’s title track “BUT YOU” features lyrics that honestly confess the feelings of not being able to forget the ex-lover. It reinterprets pop music in the 1980s with a modern sound. Their new music, including “BUT YOU”, will be released through various music sites at 6 p.m. today.
