Idol-actor bought a new car for his parents, who still drive an used car since 2006

For parent’s day, an idol-turned-actor bought a brand new car for his parents, who drove an old vehicle for almost 20 years.

On May 9th, Kim Hyun Joong posted three photos of a car on his Instagram, verifying it as a gift for Parents’ Day.

On that day, the idol-turned-actor said, “For father and mother, who still drive the used car I bought for them after getting my first settlement in 2006, after debuting in 2005.”

“Your diligence has won. Now, on this Parents’ Day, please accept a new car”, he also added.

In the photos shared, the used car that Kim Hyun Joong’s parents used to drive and the new car – a Genesis GV80 are captured. It can also be seen that Kim Hyun Joong placed flowers and a gift on the hood of the Genesis GV80.

Finally, Kim Hyun Joong said, “Drive this car for over 15 years, and I will replace it with the best car again after 15 years. I present you with eternal youth and safety. Happy Parents’ Day.”

Seeing Kim Hyun Joong’s gesture, netizens can’t help but express their admiration and applause. In particular, on Kim Hyun Joong’s Instagram, they left comments such as “Cool,” “Your parents are really lucky,” “Your parents must be very proud,” and “A great set of parents and a wonderful son.”

On the other hand, Kim Hyun Joong gained popularity with his stunning visuals after debuting in the entertainment industry in 2005 as a member of boy group SS501. He also drew massive attention through acting roles in “Boys Over Flowers” and “Playful Kiss”.

However, in 2014, controversies surrounding the idol-actor’s private life, including assault and pregnancy accusations from his ex-girlfriend, as well as paternity lawsuits, emerged, sending his career into a decline.

In February 2022, Kim Hyun Joong announced his surprise marriage to a non-celebrity woman, and in October of the same year, he became a father. He also released his third full-length album, “MY SUN”, in February 2023.
