On February 3, a video titled “Soyeon and Kian” was uploaded to Kian84’s YouTube channel. In the episode, Soyeon appeared as a guest for the first time in a year and a half, catching up with Kian84 and sharing updates on her life and career.

After escaping the icy winds of Yeongjong Island in Incheon and heading indoors, Kian84 casually asked, “You’re not appearing on other YouTube channels?” while mentioning the various shows and web variety programs Soyeon had participated in over the years. When he brought up Chef Sso’s Country Kitchen Dream and learned it was her own YouTube-based variety content, he asked in surprise, “You do YouTube?”

Soyeon replied simply, “I don’t anymore,” immediately piquing curiosity. She went on to explain honestly, “I started it pretty casually, but once it suddenly started getting a lot of attention, it felt too burdensome.” Her frank answer highlighted the pressure that came with unexpected popularity.

Kian84 responded with concern, saying, “Most people quit YouTube because it doesn’t work out but how can you quit when it’s doing well?” To this, Soyeon explained that the channel originally began as a way to share her real self. “I started with SNS because I liked showing my genuine side. It grew from there and turned into YouTube,” she said.

She also added that while there were staff members helping her with YouTube production, the steadily rising quality became another source of pressure. “The production quality kept getting higher, and that itself felt overwhelming,” she admitted.

Meanwhile, Soyeon who actively composes and writes lyrics for i-dle—previously made headlines after revealing that her monthly copyright royalties amount to approximately 1 billion won, further underscoring her success as both an idol and a producer.
