On February 6, a new video titled “I Didn’t Expect to Say This Much (feat. Lie Detector) | EP.03 i-dle Miyeon & Minnie | True Man Show” was released on the YouTube channel “If I Open My Mouth.” The episode featured Miyeon and Minnie, who recently made a comeback with their new song “Mono,” engaging in a lighthearted but honest talk session using a lie detector.

During the show, host Lee Yong-jin asked Miyeon whether she thought she was “the standout visual” of i-dle. She answered “yes” without hesitation, and the lie detector confirmed it as true. Miyeon added that she does not actually see herself that way but answered confidently because she was worried the machine might label her response as false.

Lee Yong-jin followed up by asking when she started thinking she should take on the “visual role” within the group. Miyeon explained that many of i-dle’s songs emphasize self-love, and that she grew tired of reflexively denying compliments. “When seniors or juniors said I was pretty, I used to say ‘no,’ but I didn’t like that anymore,” she said. “So I started saying ‘thank you,’ and maybe that made people see me differently. I’m actually a very modest person.”

The host then joked about the flood of flattering headlines written about her, citing phrases such as “365 days of peak visuals,” “sculpted side profile up close,” and “a nose bridge so high it questions her nationality.” He teased her by asking whether she had paid reporters separately. Lee then directly asked if she had eyebrow tattoos or a nose job. Miyeon firmly replied that she had done neither, and the lie detector again confirmed her statement as true.

“My nose is completely natural,” Miyeon said confidently. “There’s even bone like a slight bump. I only realized after debut how pretty my nose actually is. My parents both have high nose bridges too.”

When asked whether she had ever been told she resembled actress Song Hye-kyo, Miyeon denied it, but the lie detector flagged her response as false, drawing laughter from the studio. She jokingly explained that her heart was racing and that maybe the result reflected her desire to resemble the actress rather than an actual likeness.

Lee Yong-jin then asked if she looked more like Son Ye-jin instead. Miyeon replied honestly, “Between the two, I think I resemble Son Ye-jin just a little maybe just a fingernail’s worth,” prompting more laughter.

However, Miyeon was firm when denying rumors that she suffers from “princess syndrome.” Asked if there was anything she wanted to clarify, she said, “That’s really not true. It’s just a concept.” The lie detector confirmed her answer as true. She added humorously, “Some people really thought I had an actual condition. I feel so relieved that this is finally cleared up.”

Meanwhile, i-dle, including Miyeon and Minnie, returned to domestic promotions last month after eight months with the release of their digital single “Mono (Feat. skaiwater)” on January 27.
