On February 5, Tao appeared on the YouTube channel Study King Zzin Genius Hong Jin-kyung, where he shared updates about his life and current ventures. Asked about how he has been doing lately, Tao responded in Korean with a smile, saying, “Life is good, and I’m married,” showing a relaxed and positive demeanor.
When host Hong Jin-kyung mentioned that Tao has been expanding his activities as an entrepreneur in China, Tao openly revealed, “My main product is sanitary pads,” surprising many viewers. He went on to explain the motivation behind entering the feminine hygiene market, saying he wanted women to be able to use sanitary products more safely and without anxiety.
Tao emphasized product safety as the core of his business philosophy. “I wanted to create something women could trust,” he said, adding that the production process can be monitored at any time to ensure quality and hygiene. His commitment to transparency and safety, he explained, was more important to him than short-term profits.

He also disclosed the brand’s performance, stating that approximately 150 million sanitary pads have been sold, resulting in sales of about ₩31.6 billion. Despite the impressive figures, Tao candidly admitted that the business has yet to fully break even and that net profits remain modest.
According to Tao, the decision to launch the brand was driven by a sense of responsibility rather than purely commercial ambition. “This business started because I felt accountable to women as a consumer group,” he said, stressing that consumer trust outweighs financial gain in the long run.

The background to Tao’s venture is tied to a major controversy in China involving the recycling and resale of used sanitary products by some manufacturers. As public outrage grew over the unethical practice, Tao expressed strong disgust, stating that profiting from such behavior was “repulsive.” He declared that he would personally produce clean, honest sanitary products to challenge the industry’s problems head-on.
Tao debuted in 2012 as a member of EXO and later left the group before focusing his career in China. Since then, he has balanced entertainment activities with various business endeavors, with his sanitary pad brand now standing out as one of his most talked-about projects.
