“I can’t help but be stuck in my 30s,” IU talked about her choice of drama for her comeback and how she wanted to live life in her 30s

IU graced the cover of the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Under the theme of “Duality,” the pictorial captured IU’s two faces: icon IU and human Lee Ji Eun. From a bare face look to dark smokey makeup, the pictorial contained a variety of IU that coexists within the same person.

In an interview that followed the shooting, IU revealed how she chose “You Have Done Well” as her first drama in four years, saying, “I enjoy reading writer Im Sang Chun’s previous works, and it is refreshing because this work has a story unique to it. As a person who likes to read and write, I feel envious of his talent. The theme is good, but I especially like the fact that it conveys a heavy story without being heavy. Ae Soon seems like someone you can easily find around you, but if you look closely, is it a person whose individuality as a human being stands out. I’m drawn to people with that kind of determination.”

IU also talked about being in her 30s, “It is no exaggeration to say that when I was in my 20s, I lived with concerns about ‘direction’. Those fervent worries were pleasant, but frankly, I was also tired. When I get to my 30s, I don’t particularly think about direction. Being wealthy may be a direction in itself. Throughout last year, I thought, ‘I want to keep this mindset’ and ‘I enjoy living like this.’ On the other hand, apart from living comfortably, it was a year full of fun events. Later, when I look back at my previous years, I can’t help but be stuck in my 30s.”
