“I almost got kicked out…” “The Glory” Kang Hyeon Nam’s husband shared what he heard from Song Hye Kyo during filming

Actor Ryu Sung Hyun, who played Kang Hyeon Nam (Yeom Hye Ran)’s husband Lee Seok Jae in Netflix’s series “The Glory”, revealed the story of how he almost got kicked out while filming the drama and what he heard from actors Jung Sung Il and Song Hye Kyo.

On March 24th, actor Ryu Sung Hyun appeared on the YouTube channel “Current Status Olympics”. When asked “Lee Seok Jae, who commits domestic violence in ‘The Glory’, was considered the worst villain among netizens”, Ryu Sung Hyun replied, “I feel the popularity thanks to this. When I go buy coffee at a convenience store, the clerks recognize me as they say, ‘Oh?’ But I can’t drink alcohol in reality.”

Ryu Sung Hyun continued, “I’ve never hit anyone, but the first scene was a hitting scene. Before the shoot, I dressed up and walked around during the waiting time, but the staff around me didn’t know and said, ‘Shouldn’t we let him out? He seems like a strange person.’ I almost got caught and kicked out.”

He explained, “It’s been 25 years since I’ve known actor Jung Sung Il, who played Ha Do Yeong. He came to play on the day of the shoot and was startled, saying, ‘You’re going to hit like this?’ Song Hye Kyo also said, ‘That’s way too scary. Are you going to be this scary?’ And actress Yeom Hye Ran, who played Kang Hyeon Nam, did a good job. I cried watching the last scene.”

Lastly, he shared “When I was in my 40s, I always played supporting roles and minor roles, so I felt skeptical. But now, it’s good to be remembered as an actor who played a certain character in each work. There are many gemstones among the actors who play supporting roles and minor roles” and expressed his gratitude towards fans.
