“I almost died while filming”… “The Killer” Jang Hyuk, the return of an action master

Actor Jang Hyuk will return with the action movie “The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves To Die”.

The press conference of “The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves To Die” (directed by Choi Jae-hoon, produced by ASCENDIO, hereinafter “The Killer”) was broadcast live online on the morning of June 8th. Director Choi Jae-hoon, actors Jang Hyuk and Lee Seo-young attended the event to talk about the work.

The Killer

“The Killer” tells a story about a retired killer named Ui-gang (Jang Hyuk) who gets swept up in a case while using violence to protect an adolescent girl he suddenly becomes in charge of. Bruce Khan, who is active as an action actor in Hong Kong and Hollywood, and Lee Seo-young, who predicted a strong screen debut through this work, joined as Yu-ri, a member of the organization, and Yoon-ji, an ordinary high school student who has a lot of hidden scars because she has no one she can depend on, raising expectations for a high-quality K-action film.

The Killer

Having a burning passion for acting sequences, Jang Hyuk shockingly revealed what happened during filming, “I almost died filming an action scene.” He explained, “I wanted to create a performance with the action team, so I participated in the action design. I thought about what would make the action slightly different and fresh. Normally, when you do an action scene, you’re bound to breathe, but this time, I didn’t breathe on purpose. I wanted to give the realistic feeling rather than showing the action in a performance manner.”

The Killer

“That’s why I almost died while filming the action scene. I was out of breath because I had to finish it quickly without breathing. So, the most comfortable time to shoot was during the post-recording. It was comfortable because I didn’t have to pay attention to breathing.”
