On May 8, actor Hyun Bin received the Best Actor award for his performance in the Disney+ original series Made in Korea at the Baeksang Arts Awards, beating a competitive lineup of nominees that included Ji Sung, Lee Junho, Park Jin-young, and Ryu Seung-ryong.
As Hyun Bin walked toward the stage after his name was announced, cameras captured his wife, Son Ye-jin, smiling brightly while recording the moment on her phone. Son Ye-jin had attended the ceremony as a nominee for Best Actress in the film category.
During his speech, Hyun Bin reflected on the filming experience behind Made in Korea.
“When we first started this project, the director told me that since we couldn’t fully enjoy filming Harbin, we should at least enjoy this one and have fun on set,” he shared. “Looking back, every day on set was intense, but it was also enjoyable and happy.”
The actor then continued thanking the staff and cast members who worked on the project before turning his attention to his family seated in the audience.
“More than anyone, to my wife Ye-jin sitting right in front of me — thank you so much, and I love you,” he said warmly. “I love our son too. Thank you for supporting me throughout filming. I wanted to tell you that I love you.”
The heartfelt moment immediately drew attention online, with viewers praising both Hyun Bin’s sincerity and Son Ye-jin’s affectionate reaction during the speech.
