Hyeri Says She “Gave Up on Dieting” After Struggling to Quit “This”

Girl’s Day member-actress Hyeri revealed that she failed in her diet attempt

On September 3, Hyeri appeared as a guest on SBS PowerFM’s “Park Ha Sun’s Cinetown” to promote her movie “Victory”. During the show, she shared that she had been on a low-carb diet for five months after gaining weight during the filming of “Victory”.

Hyeri confessed, “The strange thing is that I don’t usually eat much bread, but once I started the low-carb diet, I craved bread so much. I could resist eating rice, but I couldn’t stop snacking, so I gave up.”

She continued, “In the movie, I wanted my friends to see me as someone they could look up to and rely on, so I gained some weight for the role. But even after filming ended, the weight gain continued.”

Hyeri added, “The diet was really effective, but it was so difficult that I got close to my goal then just gave up, thinking, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’

Hyeri has been confirmed for her next project, the drama “Friendly Rivalry”. It is a high-teen mystery thriller that explores the relationships between teenage girls and is based on the webtoon of the same name. Hyeri will play the role of Yoo Je Yi, a powerful figure at Chaehwa Girls’ High School.
