HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and male idol group Seventeen were presented with the ‘Culture Ambassador Award’ at the “LA3C” festival 

Bang Si-hyuk and Seventeen wished to continue bridging cultural exchange through music activities. 

Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and Seventeen won the ‘Building K-ulture Bridges: Culture Ambassador Award’ at the “LA3C” festival held at The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, USA on December 9 (local time). 

“LA3C” is a festival hosted by Penske Media Corporation, which has leading American music media such as Billboard and Rolling Stone under its umbrella. On the first day of the event, Bang Si-hyuk and boy group Seventeen were jointly awarded the ‘Culture Ambassador Award’ in recognition of their contribution in bridging cultural exchanges between Asia, including Korea, and the United States through K-pop.

Chairman Bang Si-hyuk said, “I feel that I am cheering for HYBE’s efforts to provide to fans around the world various cultural contents based on music and artists, and at the same time, I feel a sense of responsibility to work harder to create higher quality music and contents. I hope that today’s event will serve as a meaningful opportunity for rich exchanges of cultural inspiration and vision between Asia and the United States.”

Seventeen said upon receiving the award, “Over the course of several months of this year, we met our fans while performing on tour in various places, including Seoul, the United States, Canada, Southeast Asia, and Japan. We felt with our whole bodies that we were united through music, regardless of culture or language.”

Meanwhile, Seventeen is scheduled to perform a roughly one-hour solo performance on the main stage of the “LA3C” festival held at Los Angeles State Historic Park on December 10th.
