On April 14, Hwasa appeared on MBC FM4U’s radio show “Noon Song of Hope with Kim Shin Young”, where she discussed MAMAMOO’s full-group comeback plans and shared details about the incident.
During the broadcast, a listener asked whether she had been injured while energetically performing at a concert. In response, Hwasa clarified the situation herself.
She explained, “I was moving a heated humidifier and accidentally spilled the water, then stepped on it,” adding, “Thankfully, it touched my foot and not the rest of my body.”
What shocked many was her description of the moment. Hwasa revealed, “I was naked while moving the humidifier, and because I stepped on the water, I was able to avoid more severe burns.”
Immediately after the accident, she went to the emergency room for treatment. Hwasa shared, “It was a second-degree burn, but I’ve fully recovered now. My skin turned dark for a while, but now there’s barely any trace left.”
She had previously mentioned this incident on the web variety show Salon Drip, revealing that she stepped on water from a heated humidifier that exceeded 100 degrees Celsius just a day before a performance.
Meanwhile, MAMAMOO is set to celebrate its 12th debut anniversary with a full-group comeback in June, along with plans for an upcoming world tour.
