Hwasa broke silence and expressed her feelings regarding controversy over indecent performance

Hwasa expressed her feelings about the controversy over indecent performance.

On Sep 4th, a video featuring Hwasa was uploaded on the YouTube channel “SUNG SI KYUNG”.

Hwasa talked about her new song “I Love My Body”, “It contains a simple yet heavy message. There’s a reason why I chose this song. I was in trouble for a while due to the controversy over indecent performance.

Hwasa recalled, “The day I arrived in the US for Mamamoo’s tour, I received a lot of KakaoTalk messages. I thought something had happened, so I prayed and looked at the messenger. My performance was controversial, so I thought, ‘Oh, I see.’ However, the level of malicious comments was too strong. I don’t dwell on malicious comments, but this time it was a little too much.

She shared, “The New York concert was the first concert in our US tour, and I should have maintained my mental state until then. I organized it with the mindset of just going ahead as usual, but it bothered me. I performed while pretending to be okay. As soon as the concert finished, I burst into tears. I sobbed even after arriving at the hotel.”

She continued, “In the hotel elevator, tears ran down my face as I talked to the members about the hardships I had endured. I think I cried the most this year. Tears fell like a waterfall. I told the members I’d go get some fresh air, went out to the parking lot and cried. It was like shooting a movie.”

Afterwards, Hwasa confessed, “I was depressed and worried about what song to sing. It was that day that my future suddenly became vague. I didn’t even sign a contract with P Nation‍, but Psy sent me ‘I Love My Body’. Hearing that made me smile for the first time during the US tour. I was having a hard time because of the controversy, but the title ‘I Love My Body’ itself was very cheerful and made me feel good.”

She drew attention by adding, “It’s not that I ignore people’s criticism. I accept everything, but I think it’s right to ignore things that are ridiculously hurtful.

Previously, at the Sungkyunkwan University festival last May, Hwasa wore a see-through T-shirt and short jeans that showed all of her underwear. Hwasa was embroiled in controversy over indecent performance as she showed sensational movements while performing her solo song “Don’t Give”. After that, the Student Parents’ Human Rights Protection Solidarity accused Hwasa on charges of indecent performance.
