How 5 ‘Crazy Horse’ Performances Truly Ruined BLACKPINK Lisa?

BLACKPINK Lisa is facing a ban in China

The performance at the Crazy Horse strip club is likely one of the most regrettable decisions for Lisa. Ever since confirming her performance there, the BLACKPINK member has faced intense criticism. As of now, her performance, aside from providing a “fun experience” for herself as she shared, doesn’t seem to contribute much to her singing career.

Since the performance took place, the Thai singer continues to bear the consequences. The Chinese entertainment industry is imposing strict penalties on her. Considering the current situation, it’s difficult for Lisa to continue her activities in the Chinese market. Notably, if Lisa gets banned in China, international fashion brands will also turn their back on her.

Stringent penalties

On November 1st, Herald Pop reported that Lisa’s Chinese Weibo account was unexpectedly deleted. When fans tried to access Lisa’s account, they received a notification: “This account cannot be viewed due to violations of laws, regulations, and Weibo community agreements.”

“The public speculates that Lisa is facing the consequences after her 19+ performance at Crazy Horse. This is because the Chinese Association of Performing Arts strictly prohibits activities such as gambling, drugs, violence, or promoting obscene and indecent performances as part of the standard to maintain the reputation of famous individuals,” Herald Pop wrote.

That is the common speculation of many other news outlets, such as an article on Sports Khan with the title: “Lisa from BLACKPINK’s Weibo account locked. Is she being criticized as ‘obscene’ for the 19+ performance?” or “BLACKPINK Lisa violates China’s regulations. Consequences of the 19+ show” on Xports News.

It’s worth noting that the accounts of other BLACKPINK members still work normally. This further unsettles Lisa’s fans.

Tvreport also mentioned that luxury brands for which Lisa is an ambassador have removed her photos from their Weibo accounts. The chairman of the luxury brand Bulgari, who had a close relationship with Lisa, took similar actions.

Previously, Lisa performed at the Crazy Horse strip club and received strong criticism from the Chinese entertainment industry for “violating standards for maintaining the reputation of famous individuals,” as reported by Tvreport. Crazy Horse faced opposition for “commercializing sexual activities.”

The Chinese market accounts for more than 20% of global luxury consumption. The recent real estate financial crisis in China has led to an economic downturn, and the luxury market is increasingly narrowing. TVreport suggests that luxury brands cannot ignore the impact of the Chinese market in this situation. This implies that Lisa may face trouble in the fashion industry if she is no longer popular in this market.

In an article related to Lisa, Herald Pop also mentioned that the Chinese star Angelababy, who was spotted attending Lisa’s performance, can be forced to leave the entertainment industry. A television program completely removed Angelababy’s appearance on the show. CCTV also deleted videos featuring Angelababy.

Lisa is not the only one

For a long time, Chinese regulatory authorities have been known for their strict enforcement of social and ethical rules for celebrities. As reported by Herald Pop, lewd performances are also among the prohibited behaviors.

Top stars like Kris Wu, Zhao Wei, Deng Lun, and Li Yifeng have been completely banned in China following scandals surrounding them, demonstrating the strictness of the country’s legal system.

The 163 news outlet reported that the final episode of “Keep Running” was broadcast in mid-July. However, all scenes featuring Cai Xukun were either cut or edited out to prevent the male singer’s face from appearing on TV shows. In late June, the male singer was accused of having frequent one-night stands with women, even pressuring one to have an abortion.

Subsequently, the former leader of the Nine Percent group denied the allegations, but the audience found his explanations unconvincing. From being a top star, Cai Xukun is now finding it difficult to return to the entertainment industry.

PGone was involved in an extramarital affair with Li Xiao Luo several years ago. After a long hiatus period, the male rapper recently reopened his social media account, indicating a comeback. However, in less than 24 hours, his account was locked. This shows how strict and resolute regulatory agencies are in removing controversial artists from the entertainment industry.
