“Honeysweet” Kim Hee Sun, “I had to clench my teeth to hold back laughter when acting kiss scene with Yoo Hae Jin”

Actress Kim Hee Sun revealed behind stories of her filming with actor Yoo Hae Jin.

On August 10th, actress Kim Hee Sun had a video interview for her upcoming movie “Honeysweet”.

Known as the new film by “Punch” and “Innocent Witness” director Lee Han, “Honeysweet” tells the story of Chi Ho (Yoo Hae Jin), a genius confectionery researcher who knows nothing other than snacks, meeting Il Young (Kim Hee Sun), a single mother with a positive mind who always moves straight ahead, and experiencing various new tastes of life.

Returning to the big screen after 20 years, Kim Hee Sun worked with Yoo Hae Jin for the first time and portrayed a lovely and pure romance that can draw sympathy from viewers regardless of generaion.

When asked about her similarity with Il Young, Kim Hee Sun shared, “If there is someone I like or feel curious about, I would do it like Il Young”, adding “If I like someone, I would actively approach them and try to spend more time with them. I think both Il Young and I are people with a positive mindset”.

Regarding the scene where Il Young boldly attempts to make physical contact with Chi Ho in a car theater, Kim Hee Sun said, “I was very worried about that scene since I had mostly played goddesses led by men. However, I needed to be more intense when playing this character. Surprisingly, Yoo Hae Jin couldn’t hold back his laughter. In the beginning, he made NG scenes. There’s a line in the kiss scene and it was so funny that I had to clench my teeth to prevent myself from laughing while acting. Later, we stopped the shoot for about 5 minutes to laugh and concentrate on the scene again. I’m glad the scene came out beautifully”.

In an interview on the previous day (August 9th), Yoo Hae Jin also praised Kim Hee Sun’s bright energy, saying she was the moodmaker on the set.

Revealing her thoughts about Yoo Hae Jin, Kim Hee Sun shared, “He acted so well and transformed into Chi Ho completely”, adding “On the first and second filming days, Yoo Hae Jin came to the set to cheer for me despite having no shoot. I felt so thankful for that.

“Honeysweet” will premiere on August 15th.

The actress also talked about the ways to deal with stress, and how she prepared for the shoot. She also mentioned the film directed by her close fellow actor Jung Woo Sung, which is also being released at around the same time.
