Honey Lee’s New Historical Drama Sees a 200% Surge in Popularity after Just 2 Episodes 

The historical comedy “Knight Flower,” only two episodes into its broadcast, has already gained significant attention, solidifying MBC’s position as the broadcaster of the most outstanding historical dramas in Korean TV.

“Knight Flower” depicts the dual life of Yeo Hwa (Honey Lee), a woman who, by day, quietly mourns her deceased husband and, by night, secretly engages in chivalrous deeds to help others.

Even before its premiere, “Knight Flower” was expected to continue MBC’s historical drama craze, following the consecutive successes of “My Dearest” and “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.” 

True to expectations, upon its premiere, the show made an impact. According to Nielsen Korea, the drama has already achieved a rating of 8.2% after just two episodes, closely approaching the 9.3% record set by its predecessor.

Notably, “Knight Flower” has asserted itself as a buzzworthy drama, consistently leading the buzz level rankings and overall OTT (as of Jan 16th) for several consecutive days (data compiling rankings from all OTT platforms available in Korea, including Wavve, TVING, Coupang Play, Netflix, Disney Plus, and Watcha).

Despite facing competition from “My Demon” and “Marry My Husband,” “Knight Flower” continues to demonstrate its appeal with a 200% increase in popularity as it enters its second week.

Explaining this appeal, viewers believe that “Knight Flower” is a perfect entertainment piece.

The drama features numerous humorous elements, making it easy and enjoyable to watch, and its well-crafted script, adapted from a popular webtoon, adds to its charm. 

Particularly, the performances of the cast elevate “Knight Flower,” making it more complete.
