Hint Of Hyeri’s Breakup With Ryu Jun-yeol? “I Get No Kakaotalk Messages For The Whole Day”

Following Hyeri's breakup news, netizens re-examined her past remarks on an entertainment program

According to Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri’s agencies on November 13th, the two decided to break up after long consideration and continue to support each other as good colleagues, not lovers.

As such, netizens brought up Hyeri’s past remarks to re-examine.

In June, the YouTube channel “TEO” uploaded a video titled “[Unreleased Cut] HMLYCP’s last breakfast in which truths and lies coexist”. The video shows “HMLYCP” cast members (Hyeri, (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon, dancer Leejung, Choi Ye-na, LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Chae-won, and Patricia) enjoying their last breakfast together before the show ended.

That day, the members revealed the number of unread Kakaotalk messages they had. Miyeon said she got 157 unread messages, while Kim Chae-won had 183 messages and Leejung had 114 messages.

Hearing that, Hyeri was very surprised. She reacted, “Sometimes I don’t get any messages for the whole day”. At that time, Hyeri was still openly dating Ryu Jun-yeol.

Recalling this scene after the news of their breakup, netizens believed that Hyeri’s remarks seemed to have implied that the actress had become estranged from Ryu Jun-yeol back then.

Meanwhile, Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol developed into lovers after starring in tvN’s famous series “Reply 1988” together. In this drama, Hyeri plays Sung Deok-sun and Ryu Jun-yeol portrays Kim Jung-hwan. The two formed a love triangle with Park Bo-gum as Choi Taek. At the end of the drama, Sung Deok-sun’s final choice is Choi Taek, but Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol became a couple in real life.

The two had been one of the representative celebrity couples in the Korean entertainment industry since they publicized their romance in August 2017. As such, many people are upset upon hearing the news of their breakup.

Hyeri will appear in her next film “Victory” as high school student Pil-seon, who suddenly wakes up as a cheerleader. “Alienoid Part 2”, starring Ryu Jun-yeol, is scheduled to premiere in January next year.
