Miss Hong Kong 2023 Hilary Chong has become the center of dating rumors involving a wealthy businessman, but she has firmly denied the claims.

Recently, billionaire businessman James Wu, 72, husband of Miss Hong Kong 1997 Virginia Yung and founder of the Sea Horse Healthy Mattress brand, has been actively engaging on social media. He personally invited Hilary Chong and another beauty, Carmen Ngai, to appear in promotional videos.

In one clip, Hilary Chong performed a duet with James Wu of the classic song “Xiao Kan Feng Yun.” Their natural and seemingly affectionate interaction sparked widespread discussion online. Entertainment insiders soon speculated that the two were romantically involved, even dubbing her a “billionaire hunter.”

On May 3, while attending an event and responding to questions about the dating rumors, Hilary Chong said, “I think people are very creative and imaginative they can come up with anything. The video was filmed at the company’s request. I believe we will continue to shoot more content in the future. When reading the news, people should click, read carefully, and verify whether it’s true.”

Regarding the nickname “billionaire hunter,” she described it as a stereotype and said it did not upset her. She shared, “I think people have a prejudice that contestants of Miss Hong Kong, especially winners and runners-up, must be with wealthy men. I don’t think that’s necessarily true it’s just a stereotype. I can also be with someone I truly love, even if that person isn’t rich.”

This is not the first time Hilary Chong has faced rumors of dating older men. She was previously suspected of being involved with actor Roger Kwok shortly after his divorce. The two were spotted together at parties and playing tennis multiple times. In response, she denied the rumors but added ambiguously, “Love has no age limit.”

Born in 2002, Hilary Chong was crowned Miss Hong Kong 2023 and is currently pursuing a career in acting.
