Many Asian stars lose public trust and become pariahs after being caught in cheating scandals. One such case is Haruna Kinoshita, former member of NMB48. Once adored and expected to become a top star, Kinoshita destroyed her bright future by being exposed for stealing the husband of her fellow group member’s sister.

Born in 1998, Kinoshita entered the Japanese entertainment industry at just 12 years old. As her career was on the rise, scandal erupted when Shūkan Bunshun published photos proving a relationship between Kinoshita and “CEO A” – the husband of her group‑mate Kanako Muro’s sister. At the time, Kinoshita was only 17 but had already engaged in the affair that sparked public outrage.

In the shocking photo series, Haruna and CEO A were seen enjoying romantic moments at multiple locations and even entering a high‑end hotel together. Media sources reported that she had been seen near CEO A’s home previously.

At the height of the controversy, the businessman’s wife publicly wrote on Kinoshita’s social page: “If you keep cheating, go ahead and cause me to divorce.” Kanako Muro added: “1 or 2 months ago my sister and her husband were still sweet together, but now everything has suddenly become very strange.”

Following the scandal, the image of the sweet, cute idol Haruna Kinoshita collapsed. The public lambasted her across all fronts. A few months after the scandal broke, she officially left NMB48.

Despite fierce backlash, Kinoshita and CEO A moved in together anyway and married in 2018. They welcomed a son a year later. But the marriage didn’t last: by 2022 she changed her social‑profile status to “single mother,” confirming her divorce from CEO A after four years. At the same time, CEO A publicly posted intimate photos with another woman, showing no remorse over his ex‑wife Haruna.

After leaving the group due to the affair, Haruna Kinoshita had no path back into showbiz. In March 2020 she launched her own YouTube channel in hopes of a comeback—but it failed to gain traction.
