On April 12, authorities in Bucheon confirmed that the hospital operated by EXID Hani fiancé’s Yang Jae Woong officially filed for closure on April 1. At the time of shutdown, there were reportedly no remaining inpatients, meaning no transfers were required.

The closure comes after months of controversy tied to a patient death in May last year. The patient, who had been admitted for treatment related to diet drug addiction, passed away after 17 days in care. The case only became public two months later, sparking widespread criticism toward the hospital and its medical practices.

Investigations suggested that medical staff may have failed to properly monitor the patient’s condition while continuing to administer psychotropic drugs that could cause complications such as intestinal obstruction. Several staff members, including the attending physician, have since been indicted, with one placed under detention.
Although Yang Jae Woong himself has denied negligence, stating during a parliamentary audit that he could not acknowledge fault, the case remains under further investigation.
Amid the escalating controversy, Hani has largely remained silent. She previously stepped down from a scheduled variety show appearance but did not issue any personal statement regarding the incident.
Her relationship with Yang Jae Woong has also drawn attention. The couple, who had reportedly been preparing for marriage, are now said to have postponed their plans.

Despite the situation, fans noticed that Hani continues to maintain posts on social media celebrating their relationship—often referred to as “Lovestagram.” One such post marking their 999th day together remains visible, suggesting that she is still standing by him during this difficult period.
Professionally, Hani is considering a return to acting. She is currently reviewing an offer to star in the KBS2 weekend drama “Love Comes” (working title). If confirmed, it would mark her first drama appearance in three years since “Call It Love.”
While public opinion remains divided, Hani’s situation highlights the complex intersection of personal relationships and public scrutiny in the Korean entertainment industry.
