Han So-hee’s side announces position, “We cannot cut off the relationship between Han So-hee and her mother, but the actress will not take any responsibility for her mother’s debt”

Actress Han So-hee revealed her position on her mother’s fraud allegation.

On March 7th, Han So-hee’s agency, 9ato Entertainment, announced their official position on Han So-hee’s mother being sued for committing fraud, saying, “Han So-hee will not take any responsibility for the related debts”.

The agency explained, “The artist’s mother, Mrs. Shin, used a bank account created under the name of Han So-hee in her process of borrowing money. Shin opened a bank account when Han So-hee was a minor and used it to borrow money (without Han So-hee’s knowing).”

Revealing that there were several similar incidents, they continued, “There was even a forgery of private documents. A series of such cases led to civil trials, but the court clearly drew a line that Han So-hee was not related”.

The agency apologized for causing concern due to their artist’s personal affairs. Emphasizing that Han So-hee will not take responsibility for any debts related to her mother, they said, “In hopes that there would be no more victims in the future, we deliver this additional explanation. It is true that we cannot cut off the relationship between the mother and her daughter. We apologize to those who unintentionally suffered damages”.

They added that this is to stop the series of acts where an individual tries to get money by abusing the celebrity status of their children.

Earlier, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho claimed that Han So-hee‘s mother was sued for committing a fraud worth tens of millions of won.

Shin is accused of not repaying after borrowing 85 million won from B from February 2018 to September 2019. B claimed that Shin lent money by promising that she would pay the acquaintance 2 million won per month, but did not settle the payment properly.

Meanwhile, Han So-hee was embroiled in her mother’s debt struggle in 2020 as well.

At that time, the actress apologized, “I paid off my mother’s debt to the extent I could reach, but the amount grew out of my control. I thought paying off the debt on behalf of her was the only solution. It was my immature judgment and more victims seem to have suffered from that.”

“Han So-hee’s mother borrowed money using an account created under Han So-hee’s name, but it is insufficient to say that Han So-hee should be jointly responsible for the debt. There is no evidence to prove that” (Ulsan District Court ruling on April 8th, 2021)

We apologized for causing concern due to their artist’s personal affairs, not her work, but once again we deliver this additional explanation in hopes that there would be no more victims in the future.

Han So-hee will not take responsibility for any debts related to her mother. This is to block the series of actions like this case in which the mother used her daughter’s name to borrow money and reputation as a celebrity to scam money.
