Actress Han So-hee recently sat down with the press for an interview related to her upcoming film Project Y , where she calmly reflected on her emotions during the controversy two years ago, how her mindset has since changed, and her perspective on life as an actress.

Addressing the criticism surrounding her SNS activity, Han So-hee said, “I think reactions like that inevitably come with this profession.” She explained that at the time, she made a conscious effort to accept public opinions from multiple perspectives.

“Back then, I tried very hard to take in what the public was thinking. Ten people can’t all share the same opinion. There could be things I was missing, and rather than dismissing everything as mindless criticism, I thought some of it could actually be good feedback, so I was careful,” she said.

She also touched on the views of her teenage female fanbase, often referred to as Generation Z. Han So-hee remarked, “When I look at Gen Z friends, it feels like they have a very clear sense of self now. Many of them know how to accept what’s right and filter out what’s harmful when consuming media.” She added, “Because of that, I feel a sense of responsibility.”

Reflecting on the period when public attention felt especially overwhelming, Han So-hee said her attitude toward being watched has changed. “I think there’s a difference between then and now. Back then, I scrutinized my own standards almost excessively. I kept asking myself why I think the way I do and why I was receiving that kind of attention, viewing myself very subjectively,” she recalled.

Now, however, she says she tries to see herself more objectively. “Public attention can actually be a luxury,” Han So-hee stated. “Most people want that attention, and I already have it. Whether it’s criticism or condemnation, I see it as feedback that I can hear from the closest distance.”

She continued, “These days, I try to evaluate myself objectively. I fix what needs improving and let go of what isn’t necessary. I’m learning how to accept things more easily. I think it’s something I naturally have to bear because of the nature of this job.” In closing, Han So-hee described herself as still lacking. “I’m someone who believes there’s no end to learning,” she said. “As an actress, in the career path I chose, I want to keep going until I hear people say, ‘She’s good at what she does.’”

Han So-hee, who was previously embroiled in a romantic scandal involving Ryu Jun-yeol, now shows a more composed and reflective attitude as she views public scrutiny as part of her growth as an actress.
