Ha Jung-woo, Kim Jong-kook And More: Stars Who Were Scammed Of Up To 200 Billion Won, One Even Made A Suicide Note

Actor Ha Jung-woo appeared in a video posted on Choi Hwa-jeong’s YouTube channel on August 16. In this video, Jung shared that he was scammed by a close friend whom he has known for 25 years.

Kim Jong-kook is another celebrity who was cheated by an acquaintance. In the past, Kim once shared that he invested a few billion won according to a friend’s scamming recommendation. He also confessed his pain, saying, “I thought it was okay, but it turned out it wasn’t. After going through that, I thought, ‘Let’s just pay attention to my work’ and stopped paying attention to anything else.”

SHINHWA’s Lee Min-woo confessed that he had been cheated of his entire property and gaslighted by his a close friend of his sister. He said he has known the person for 20 years. “I (felt like) couldn’t breathe every day. Abusive words were common. I stuttered a lot and I hated and got angry when I saw someone who looked like him/her,” he recalled.

Lee Min-woo said, “I couldn’t fall asleep as I was having a hard time during the time I was gaslighted. I took medicine and cried a lot. I even hurt myself while cursing at that person. It was really hard.” The perpetrator asked for nearly 200 billion won. Lee Min-woo’s older sister said, “The perpetrator asked me to pay back nearly 200 billion won. (The perpetrator) told me to use the bond because he would tell me the bond. I even took Min-woo’s public certificate and seal.”

“I tried to commit suicide due to mental trauma,” Lee said. “I couldn’t die because my family was my No.0 (more than No.1). I believed I should protect my family well.” Lee Min-woo’s sister also shared, “He wrote a suicide note and asked me to Gi give it to the perpetrator if something happened to him and went to the Han River.”
