Netflix has officially confirmed the production of its new original series Grand Galaxy Hotel, written by the Hong Sisters, the beloved screenwriting duo behind Master’s Sun, Hotel Del Luna, and Alchemy of Souls.
The fantasy-romance drama unfolds inside a mysterious hotel that comforts wandering souls. The story begins when the hotel’s president suddenly disappears, leaving behind a secret that connects the living and the dead. Amid supernatural happenings, viewers will encounter emotional human stories, spiritual journeys, and whimsical mysteries.
Star-Studded Cast and Reunion of a Beloved Creative Team
Leading the series is Lee Do-hyun, one of Korea’s most sought-after actors known for Sweet Home, The Glory, Bad Mother, and the film Exhuma. Lee Do-hyun will play Eun-ha, the new president of Grand Galaxy Hotel, who takes over after the mysterious disappearance of his predecessor. Eun-ha is described as a sharp yet enigmatic figure with a hidden past.
Shin Si-ah, who made a powerful debut in The Witch: Part 2 – The Other One, will play Sang-soon, the hotel’s only human employee — a fearless manager who doesn’t shy away from ghosts and is loved for her professionalism and warmth.
Lee Soo-hyuk joins as Baek-gi, a reaper who cleanses lingering evil spirits, showcasing his trademark charisma and mysterious charm. Meanwhile, Lee Soo-hyun portrays Seok-san, a dangerous and seductive woman shrouded in secrets.
Hong Sisters x Director Oh Choong-hwan: A Reunion After Hotel Del Luna
The Hong Sisters — famed for My Girl, The Greatest Love, Master’s Sun, My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox and Alchemy of Souls — reunite with director Oh Choong-hwan, known for his emotional storytelling and cinematic visuals in Doctors, While You Were Sleeping, Start-Up, and Castaway Diva.
This marks their first collaboration since Hotel Del Luna, heightening fans’ anticipation for another genre-blending masterpiece that merges humor, fantasy, romance, and the afterlife.
