Park Jin Young, an actor and member of boy group GOT7, will be the second member of the group to enlist.
On May 4th, BH Entertainment, Park Jin Young’s agency, announced that, “Our agency’s artist Park Jin Young will receive basic military training at the training center [starting] on Monday, May 8, and fulfill his military duty as an active-duty soldier”.
The agency said, “Please understand that a separate official event will not be held to minimize congestion at the site on the day of enlistment and that he will be admitted privately for safety reasons. The entrance ceremony for the boot camp.”
Park Jin Young first debuted as an actor in 2012 and continued debuting in the boy group GOT7 under JYP in 2014. Recently, he has been focusing more on his acting activities and won the “Best New Actor” Award and the “Most Popular Actor” Award at the “59th Baeksang Arts Awards” with the movie “A Christmas Carol”.
Earlier last month, Park Jin Young announced the news of his enlistment in a handwritten letter to fans, saying, “I’m sure you were surprised to hear that I will be enlisting as a driver. As previously announced, I will be fulfilling my national defense obligations and will be enlisting on May 8th. I know everyone is worried, but after meeting all of you, I have become more confident and reliable. Therefore, I promise to stay healthy, experience many things, and come back as a better person. Thank you always, and I love you.”
