In July, GOT7’s BamBam posted an ominous update via Instagram, “I just want to sleep and don’t wake up so I can finally rest.” which caused significant concern among many Ahgases (GOT7 fans). He later tried to reassure fans, “It’s been a long run since last year, with lots of pressure and stress, and I haven’t felt well for a while. Sometimes I get sensitive and emotional. I’ll do my best this year and find time to rest. I’ll be okay. Sorry if I worried anyone. Have a good day.” Despite his message, fans remained deeply concerned.
The worries intensified during BamBam’s 2024 [BAMESIS] SHOWCASE TOUR. At his Manila concert last month, he gave an emotional speech, admitting he had been feeling increasingly unhappy, “The more you grow up, the fewer happy days there are… I feel unhappy more than happy these days. I just want to be honest because you’re the only people I can talk to. You’re the only ones I can lean on.”
Later that month, BamBam posted an update on X (formerly Twitter), apologizing for his recent negativity and announcing that he would take a break to return as the positive BamBam fans know and love.
Although fans expected a hiatus, BamBam’s latest posts have sparked even more concern. On September 29, he posted on Instagram that he would be “gone for good” in 2025. He also responded to a worried fan on X, saying, “People around me are the reason I’m dying.” As a result, both Ahgases and non-fans are deeply concerned about BamBam’s well-being and hope he receives the necessary rest and support.
Some of BamBam’s friends have reached out publicly. Fly to the Sky’s Brian Joo expressed support on Instagram, and soloist Jessi, who appeared on BamBam’s show Bam House, left a message of encouragement on his Instagram, “We love you BamBam”.
Fans were relieved to see his friends offering support, and now that he has returned to Thailand, Ahgases are hopeful that he is surrounded by those who care for him the most, especially his family.
