Goo Hye Sun, Park Shin Hye and Honey Lee: Korean beauties who gave up their idol dreams to become actors

All three of these beauties have stopped on the path of becoming idols to become actors and achieve much success in their careers.

Possessing good vocal and performing skills well and a gorgeous appearance, these actresses used to be professionally trained to debut as idols. However, they all decided to give up their idol dreams to pursue an acting career and achieved great success in their new path.

1. Goo Hye Sun

Despite being a famous actress, Goo Hye Sun occasionally releases music products, mainly for her fans. In fact, in the early years of her career, she was an idol trainee of SM Entertainment, then transferred to DSP Media and was prepared to debut in a girl group. The plan failed, and she moved to YG Entertainment. With her singing ability and bright visual on stage, Goo Hye Sun should have debuted at the same time as some 2NE1 members. 

2. Park Shin Hye

Park Shin Hye was born in 1990, in a family with both her father, mother and brother working in the Korean music industry. Therefore, the actress has been familiar with art since a young age. At the age of 11, she debuted in the MV “Sarang Ha Na Yo – Do You Love?” by Lee Seung Hwan. Also at this stage, she became a member of the company Dream Factory and was trained to become an idol in the future. But after a period of time, she decided to become an actress. 3. Honey Lee

Honey Lee used to be a trainee under YG Entertainment before 2NE1 debuted. However, after participating in beauty contests and achieving much success, Honey Lee decided to pursue acting. In 2008, she started out in the musical Polaroid and then officially debuted in the drama The Partner (2009). Honey Lee has been actively engaged in acting since then. She is appreciated not only for her actress aura but also for her flexible acting and unique expressions. In addition, she still keeps her passion for music. She became the musical director of the Gimhae City Gayageum Orchestra, released many CDs and toured in different countries around the world.
