Go Min-si On Criticism For Her Role In “Sweet Home 2” “I Accept That I Can’t Satisfy Everyone”

Go Min-si shared her thoughts in á recent interview

On December 12th, actress Go Min-si had an interview with TenAsia at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. In this interview, the actress said she was accepting the harsh criticism regarding her role in Netflix’s original series “Sweet Home 2.”

“I looked up the audience’s reaction. It was nice to have some people who liked a different Eun-yoo. I think people with harsh criticisms can change their mind. I can’t satisfy everyone, so I can try to understand the bad criticisms about season two.”

In “Sweet Home 2,” Go Min-si played the role of Lee Eun-yoo, a high school student who grew up and became an earnest female warrior. In season 2, Eun-yoo was evaluated by some people as a nuisance character for always looking for her brother. Regarding this reaction, Go Min-si said, “From Eun-yu’s point of view, Eun-hyuk, who always protected her in season 1, disappeared in an instant. Eun-hyuk was the only reason and goal for her to endure life. That’s why she was able to grow further in the new season,” and added, “If Eun-yoo only used her words first in season 1, season 2 shows her ability to use actions first. She didn’t want to lose her precious things anymore, so she was trying to find them patiently as she didn’t see her brother for the last time.”

“I thought I was a character in the flow of the story rather than a hero,” regarding criticism that she became the main character of “Sweet Home 2,” Go said, “Hyun-soo (Song Kang) and Sang-wook (Lee Jin-wook) had a lot of cool and attractive scenes. I didn’t feel like I was the main character at all.”

“I thought my screen time has definitely improved compared to the first season. But I didn’t really feel that way because there were no lines and it was more focused on actions than I thought,” she added.

“Sweet Home 2” left fans disappointed as Hyun-soo, the main character, did not appear from the fourth to sixth episodes. About this, the actress explained, “I filmed with Song Kang a lot from the second half. I had no idea what other actors would do except for those who were filming with me because they kept changing the script,” Ko said. “I found out after watching the revised version that Song Kang’s fans would be disappointed. In Season 3, the conflict will be resolved.”
