On February 5, a video titled “Late to the Party Go Joon-hee | Making Dubai Chewy Cookies & Reviewing Single’s Inferno 5” was uploaded to Go Joon-hee’s YouTube channel Go Joon-hee GO. In the video, she prepares a trendy dessert before settling in to watch and comment on the hit reality series.
Initially, Go had a favorable impression of Choi Mina Sue. She described her as bright and energetic, noting that such positivity naturally attracts people. “It makes sense that men would be drawn to her, and I think women would like her too,” Go said, acknowledging Mina Sue’s strong first impression.
However, as the episodes progressed, Go’s opinion changed dramatically. After watching Episode 4’s infamous “truth game,” her tone shifted from interest to visible anger. During the game, Choi Mina Sue appeared to juggle the emotions of multiple male contestants Song Seung-il, Lim Subin, and Lee Sung-hoon sparking accusations of excessive emotional manipulation. This behavior ultimately earned her the label of the season’s “villain.”

Go Joon-hee reacted sharply to Mina Sue’s remarks during the episode, questioning her intentions and emotional honesty. “Why is everything suddenly ‘okay’? Is she trying to provoke jealousy? If it’s not intentional, then this kind of behavior is just strange,” she said, adding that watching it felt emotionally draining.
She continued with even harsher criticism, saying, “Mina Sue is filled with aggression. She really plays with people’s hearts. What is she even doing?” Go summed up her overall feelings candidly, admitting she felt genuinely angry. “This season feels different from past ones. No one has ever made me this angry before. I’m honestly wondering if it’s worth watching something that gives me this much stress.”

Meanwhile, on February 4, an Instagram post shared by someone close to Choi Mina Sue began circulating online. The photo showed a woman believed to be Mina Sue crouched in a corner with her head down, accompanied by the caption, “She’s reflecting on herselfㅠㅠ.” Another image showed her watching her own scenes from Episodes 1 through 4, with the caption, “*A real friend’s review: What do you actually feel?*”
The posts appeared to acknowledge the divided reactions Mina Sue has received since the show aired. Another acquaintance also came forward, describing her as someone who becomes more likable the more you get to know her, and urged viewers to support her until the final episode.

Throughout the show, Choi Mina Sue has been at the center of controversy for her complicated emotional entanglements with several male contestants, earning her the nickname “the reed,” implying indecisiveness. While her choices heightened the show’s tension, critics argue that her freedom in navigating relationships sometimes crossed into disrespect.
Choi Mina Sue is a former Miss Korea “Seon” (first runner-up) from 2021 and made history in 2022 by becoming the first Korean to win the Miss Earth pageant in Manila, Philippines. Prior to Single’s Inferno 5, she appeared in the drama Law and the City and TV Chosun’s DNA Lover.
