Fans raise speculation of Sunny not renewing her contract with SM based on the group’s 16th debut anniversary messages.
On August 5th, Girls’ Generation members posted special messages on the fandom platform for SONE (Girls’ Generation’s fandom) in celebration of their 16th debut anniversary.
However, the debut anniversary post only has messages from Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yoona. Sunny’s name and messages were not included.
Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun already decided to not renew their contracts with SM Entertainment and moved to other companies earlier.
Except for Sunny, the four members, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yoona, left handwritten messages with their signatures for SONE, such as “Let’s always be together”.
Fans are speculating, “Did Sunny not renew her contract with SM this time?”
There are positive responses to the company transfer, such as “I hope Sunny releases a solo album,” and “It might be good for her to leave SM and promote more.” This is because even after some Girls’ Generation members left SM, they have consistently maintained connections and built relationships with each other.
On the other hand, Sunny debuted with the single album ‘Into the New World’ in 2007. Currently, while the agency affiliations of Girls’ Generation have changed, all the members came together last year and engaged in activities with the comeback album ‘FOREVER 1.’
