G-Dragon’s recent Ubermensch concert in Hong Kong stirred controversy after multiple fans were spotted holding signs that translates to “Bring Seungri Back.” Photos and videos of the banners quickly circulated on social media, drawing intense criticism from fellow BIGBANG fans (VIPs) who deemed the act disrespectful toward G-Dragon and the rest of BIGBANG.

According to attendees, the signs appeared several times throughout the show, with some claiming G-Dragon seemed to notice but deliberately looked away. Many fans took to social media such as Threads and X to express anger, pointing out the grammatical errors on the Korean text and condemning the supporters who brought them.

One fan wrote:

“Have these people gone insane? The sign says ‘bring Seungri back’ and the grammar is f*ck up. If they’re from Hong Kong, I’m going to give them a verbal berate.”

Others called for event organizers and security teams to ban such displays in future shows, while some call the supporters of Seungri, a convict for sex offense, “vile”.

However, not all reactions were negative. A few tweets called the banner “badass” and praised whoever brought it. Others even defended Seungri, with one user writing, “NO, dumbass, Seungri had no crime involving women.”

Meanwhile, Seungri left BIGBANG and retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 following his involvement in the high-profile “Burning Sun” scandal, which led to criminal charges and public backlash. The latest incident has reignited debates among fans over whether it’s appropriate to reference him at group members’ solo events.
