A famous singer and actor has spoken up regarding his recent controversies, from sex footage to sleeping with a minor.
Recently, a 17 year-old male (hereinafter referred to as “A”), accused singer-actor Aaron Yan of sexually assaulting him 5 years ago, drawing massive attention. Later on on June 20th, Aaron Yan admitted to his terrible actions via a letter published via social media.
In particular, A said that he and Aaron Yan used to be in a relationship, even filmed sex tapes together when A was a minor. Messages of Aaron Yan begging A to withdraw his accusations were also published, shocking the entire entertainment industry. However, instead of showing fear like in his messages with A, Aaron Yan expressed gratitude in his letter, thanking A for speaking up.
“Thank you for being willing to speak up and giving me the opportunity to face the ‘time bomb’ that has haunted me for so long”, Aaron Yan wrote, adding, “I am not proud of my past. I had distorted perceptions and misbehavior in that relationship. Because I was blindly in love, once I enter a relationship, I often lose myself”.
Aaron Yan then emphasized that he highly valued his relationship with A, even helping A find a home and paying for A’s living expenses and education in Taiwan, as well as buying plane tickets just for A to meet him.
At the same time, the singer-actor consistently highlighted that he and A were in a consensual romantic relationship. Aaron Yan admitted that they began arguing and eventually broke up, but he didn’t know how to handle the breakup in a satisfactory manner, leading to this “regrettable” incident.
In addition, Aaron Yan admitted that private photos of himself and A, which were leaked in 2018, were real, and hinted that they were exposed from someone else’s phone. According to Aaron, he has made every effort to contact lawyers to remove those photos from all platforms.
“Once again, I want to apologize to everyone. I used to be a terrible person, which is why I have spent a lot of time seeking help and advice. I know that I have to face it instead of running away. I am sincerely remorseful, sincerely reflecting on myself, and I don’t want to disappoint myself and those who have shown me warmth and care even more. This is who I am now. If you want, I am truly willing to meet you in person and apologize. I am also willing to be by your side when you’re in pain, and I hope I can do anything to make it up to you in the future,” Aaron Yan also wrote in this letter.
On the other hand, Aaron Yan (born in 1985) was a member of the once-popular Asian boy band Fahrenheit, along with Calvin Chen, Jiro Wang, and Wu Chun. In July 2018, private photos of Aaron Yan with a past lover were leaked, causing the singer-actor to come out as gay.
