G-Dragon’s sister Kwon Dami expresses support for her younger brother

BIGBANG G-Dragon’s older sister publicly expressed support for her brother

On Nov 14th, Kwon Dami participated in a campaign by G-Dragon‘s fans through her Instagram. She used the filter created with “Daisy”, the logo and symbol of G-Dragon’s fashion brand, as well as hashtagged “Guardians Of Daisy” and “We stand with GD”.

Earlier on Nov 10th, she expressed her frustration at G-Dragon’s drug and full-body hair removal controversy, “I’m really holding it in, going crazy. Seriously, enough, XXXX. You are writing a whole novel, XXX.” At that time, she incorporated G-Dragon’s song “Gossip Man” as background music, expressing her anger. The lyrics of “Gossip Man” include lines such as “People who know enough all know / The truth is not what it seems” and “I hear all the rumors about me / The numerous eyes (at me) are frightening”.

The police booked G-Dragon on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act on Oct 25th. It was reported that the police caught G-Dragon’s alleged involvement during an investigation based on information about drugs being distributed at an entertainment venue in Gangnam, Seoul last month.

G-Dragon vehemently denied the accusations, “I didn’t take drugs. I have nothing to do with reports on ‘violation of the Narcotics Control Act’ released by the media recently.” He added, “However, this issue has caused concerns to many people, so I will actively cooperate with the investigation by the investigative agency and answer faithfully.”

He also voluntarily attended the police station on Nov 6th. After undergoing a 4-hour investigation, G-Dragon posted on Instagram, “事必歸正. In the beginning, right and wrong may not be clearly distinguished, and wrongdoings may prevail temporarily, but ultimately, everything will return to its rightful state.”

On Nov 13th, in an interview with Yonhap News TV, he once again stated, “I didn’t take (drugs).” He emphasized, “I know myself the best. Therefore, I voluntarily attended the investigation to prove my innocence as soon as possible because I did not take drugs, because I had nothing to do with the allegations related to drug crimes.”

Regarding suspicions that he shaved his body hair before attending the police station, he explained, “The content of the article saying I had full-body hair removal is completely different from the truth, since I have never bleached or dyed my hair for more than a year and a half since last year’s album. The most important thing is that at the time of my voluntary attendance, I voluntarily submitted hair and nails to prove my innocence even though there was no communication or physical search warrant.”

G-Dragon faced suspicions of drug use due to excessive body movements and slurred speech. He explained, “I acted as a child actor at 6, have been in the entertainment industry for 30 years and dancing for a long time, so my body is a little flexible.” He added, “The way I speak can also be misinterpreted. I became cautious as I became influential. There is also some burden. Still, I speak honestly and with the utmost sincerity.
