G-Dragon’s Lawyer Refutes Police Accusation Of Destroying Evidence By Waxing

According to the media on November 10th, G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) reportedly shaved his entire body except for his hair before attending his first police summons. Therefore, the police secured the male singer’s nails instead of body hair for a detailed examination by the National Forensic Service.

Suspecting that G-Dragon might have shaved his body hair to avoid drug tests, the police reportedly accused him of destroying evidence. In response, G-Dragon argued that he shaved his body hair as a regular habit.

As such, netizens brought back a scene from the old program “Infinite Challenge” in which G-Dragon mentioned his waxing habit. Past photos revealing G-Dragon’s legs without hair are also spreading online.

Later on the 10th, G-Dragon’s legal representative Kim Soo-hyun issued an official statement to refute the allegation of destruction of evidence, saying “Articles reporting that G-Dragon removed hair body ahead of the investigation and the police suspected him of destroying evidence are clearly false”.

The lawyer continued, “Kwon Ji-yong actively cooperated with the investigation by voluntarily submitting not only urine and hair samples but also fingernails and toenails. We want to make it clear that Kwon Ji-yong is willing to provide additional leg hair to the body hair requested by the police”, adding “The police reported that Kwon Ji-yong shaved his body to intentionally destroy evidence, but Kwon Ji-yong maintained hair long enough as a man and voluntarily submitted the required number of hair strands during the investigation”.

G-Dragon’s side continued, “Despite Kwon Ji-yong’s voluntary attendance, there were still reports accusing him of dying and bleaching hair frequently to prevent drug detection. We want to confirm that Kwon Ji-yong has not dyed or bleached his hair for the past 1 year and 5 months”.

Lastly, the lawyer added, “Upon receiving the news of the police investigation, Kwon Ji-yong has not shaved his body. Despite that, the police used expressions suggesting that Kwon Ji-yong’s attempted to destroy evidence. This has seriously damaged his reputation and we feel deeply regrettable that such reports were published without verification.”
