Singer G-Dragon's artwork, personally created by himself, appeared for the first time in the auction market, attracting attention

According to the Seoul Auction website on March 7th, G-Dragon’s piece “Youth is Flower” will be up for auction at a modern art auction scheduled for March 29th.

Looking at the artwork, blue daisy petals are drawn around a smile along with the phrase “Youth is Flower”.

The smile flower and daisy are one of his signature designs. Additionally, the unique flow of paint from pink and green dots, as if sprayed with a marker, is expressed.

G-Dragon’s artwork will be auctioned alongside pieces by other artists such as Lee Bae and Kim Sun-woo.

Unlike other artists whose estimated prices are specified, G-Dragon’s piece is labeled as “Inquire separately”.

According to Seoul Auction, the starting bid for the auction is 30 million won. The winning bid will be determined at the auction scheduled for 3 PM on March 29th.

The artwork is currently on display at the Seoul Auction Gangnam Center located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Known for his extraordinary aesthetic sense, G-Dragon has shown interest in artworks since the past. He drew inspiration from Francis Bacon’s work to compose Big Bang’s song “Bae Bae”.

Previously, in 2015, he participated in the planning of the exhibition “PEACEMINUSONE: Beyond the Stage” held at the Seoul Museum of Art.

At that time, 14 domestic and international contemporary artists presented collaborative works with G-Dragon as their muse, and G-Dragon himself explained the exhibition at a press conference.

In 2019, G-Dragon was also named one of the “50 Collectors to Watch” by the famous American art magazine “Art News”.
