G-Dragon took home the Best Dance Performance Male Solo award at the 2025 MAMA Awards for his hit track “TOO BAD.”
During his acceptance speech, G-Dragon addressed the audience with heartfelt words for Hong Kong citizens affected by the recent fire tragedy.
“To all the citizens of Hong Kong who are going through immense sorrow due to this sudden tragedy, I hope I can be of some strength to you as an artist,” he said. “I’ve prepared a performance filled with passion today, so I hope you’ll enjoy it. I don’t know if any words can truly bring comfort, but let’s all stay strong together.”

Meanwhile, G-Dragon made a heartfelt donation of HK$1 million (approximately 188 million KRW) to support victims of the tragic Hong Kong apartment fire that claimed 128 lives. The donation will go to the Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, a relief fund established by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to assist disaster recovery efforts.
G-Dragon specifically requested that his donation be used to support firefighters and volunteers actively involved in rescue and restoration operations. The contribution also aims to aid the psychological recovery of affected residents.

As honorary chairman of the Juspeace Foundation, G-Dragon’s organization will continue collaborating with local Hong Kong groups, offering its expertise in psychological support for firefighters and disaster responders.
The Juspeace Foundation explained the donation’s purpose: “We hope to convey a message of ‘collective recovery’ from disasters and demonstrate the spirit of solidarity beyond borders. Through the healing power of art, we aim to help Hong Kong citizens overcome the trauma of this disaster and return to daily life.”
Since June this year, the foundation has been running its ‘Hero Recovery’ art therapy project to support firefighters responding to climate-related disasters, including wildfires, highlighting G-Dragon’s ongoing commitment to social and community welfare.
This gesture by G-Dragon emphasizes the growing role of K-pop stars in global humanitarian efforts, combining fame with meaningful action in times of crisis.
