Former Wonder Girls Sunye was appointed as a professor at Gangseo University

Sunye, a former member of girl group Wonder Girls, was appointed as a university professor.

On April 2nd, Gangseo University posted a photo of Sunye’s appointment ceremony as a special professor and said, “Professor Min Sunye will be in charge of special lectures and lessons for students of the Department of Applied Music at Gangseo University.”

Sunye, who was born in 1989, debuted as Wonder Girls’ leader and main vocalist in 2007. Wonder Girls became a top girl group in Korea by releasing hit songs such as “Tell Me”, “Nobody” and “So Hot”.

Later on in November 2011, Sunye appeared on SBS’ “Strong Heart” and drew attention for revealing that she was dating a non-celebrity man she met during volunteer work at the site of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

In November 2012, she announced her marriage in January of the following year through her agency. At the time, she became the first member of an active girl group to announce marriage news.

After getting married, Sunye started living in Canada with her husband, and officially left Wonder Girls on July 20th, 2015.

Sunye, who did not show her face in the broadcasting industry for a while, appeared on JTBC’s “Stranger” in January 2018 and drew attention by revealing her life in Canada.

Starting with this, she made a splendid return with tvN’s “Mama The Idol” (2021), released her first mini-album “GENUINE” in July last year, and continued her solo career.

Last January, Sunye returned to Korea after wrapping up her 10-year life in Canada. Sunye is showing hard-working moves, such as completing the musical “Luth” that lasted until April 2nd.
