Former T-ara’s Areum Hospitalized in Unconscious State Due to Suicide Attempt, Boyfriend Speaks Up
Amid reports of former T-ara member Areum attempting suicide, her boyfriend, who is preparing for remarriage with Areum, has expressed his feelings.
Areum’s boyfriend, A, wrote on his Instagram on March 27th, “To Areum’s fans, thank you for your concern and encouragement. Please refrain from unnecessary strange contacts.” He added, “Please be considerate. She’s in pain and unconscious. I ask for your restraint. I pray that Areum will be fine.”
According to a report by OSEN, Areum attempted suicide early in the morning of that day and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. It’s reported that she has not regained consciousness yet.
Areum claimed on March 25th that she suffered domestic violence from her ex-husband and released photos presumed to be taken after being assaulted.
The photos show Areum’s facial injuries and torn dress. Areum explained, “The photo was taken right after I escaped to my parents’ house in front of my children after being hit, and my ordinary dress was completely torn. There were bruises all over, although they may not be visible. My nose was broken, and I had bruises the next month.”
Regarding the reason for belatedly releasing the photos of the assault, she said, “I was weakened by his apologies and felt foolish, so I couldn’t bring myself to get a medical report from the hospital… It was a big reason why I couldn’t sue for the assault incident.”
She added, “I can’t bear to suffer unjustly anymore, so I posted this and will definitely overcome it and live on more firmly to protect my children.”
Areum previously claimed on March 2nd that her ex-husband abused their children, saying, “My ex-husband, who has been in litigation throughout our marriage, has never provided for us financially, gambled, or even gave us living expenses.”
Areum married a businessman in 2019 and had two sons, but she filed for divorce from her ex-husband in December last year and announced that she would register her marriage with her current boyfriend as soon as the divorce proceedings are over.
