Former Japanese AV star Aoi Sora has once again become the center of attention after making a bold confession about her past. Although she retired from the adult film industry in 2011, her name continues to generate headlines even more than a decade later.

Appearing recently on a television program, the actress candidly opened up about her personal struggles, admitting that the period after her retirement was the “most failed stage” of her life.

The 43-year-old star revealed that she had decided to quit the industry in hopes of building a stable married life. Actively attending dates and social gatherings, she was determined to find a life partner. However, that pursuit took an unexpected turn. Instead of finding true love, Aoi Sora admitted she often went to nightclubs in Tokyo’s Minato district, where she ended up engaging in numerous one-night stands.

“The people I liked never looked at me the same way. I became disheartened, so I sought out one-night relationships with strangers to hide my emotions,” she confessed.

Looking back, Aoi Sora described that phase as becoming the “worst version” of herself, expressing deep regret: “It was the biggest mistake of my life.”

Her candid words sparked heated debate among netizens, with some praising her honesty while others criticized her past choices.

Born in 1981, Aoi Sora rose to fame as one of Japan’s most popular gravure idols and adult film stars before transitioning into mainstream entertainment. She officially retired from the AV industry in 2011. In 2018, she married DJ NON, and the couple welcomed twin sons in 2019.

Despite largely stepping away from the spotlight to focus on family life, she has gradually reappeared in the public eye in recent years. Her latest confession, however, shows a vulnerable side of the actress that continues to stir strong reactions from fans and critics alike.
