Following Yoo Ah-in, Top Actor L Is Causing Damage To 4 Projects Due To Drug Scandal

K-content faces a crisis again due to another drug scandal of actors

Following Yoo Ah-in’s drug case, L, known as a leading actor in the film industry, has reportedly been subject to investigation on drug charges. Although the actor’s name was hidden, netizens have called out various actors based on personal information in reports.

On October 19th, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency revealed that they were conducting an internal investigation on 8 people, including movie actor L in his 40s, under the Narcotics Control Act.

An official from L’s agency refused to make any comments to the media, and told My Daily, “We are checking the information”.

According to reports, L debuted in 2001 through an MBC sitcom and has starred in various hits dramas and movies. With his outstanding acting performances, L is not only admired by people in the broadcasting and film industries but also by the public. What’s more shocking is that a drug scandal happened to an actor with an exemplary image like L.

L currently has 4 projects in production. Among the four works, two movies are currently being screened, and one drama just began filming this month. In addition, an OTT series, which is right ahead of filming, is also in emergency. If the drug charges are confirmed to be true, the work that has been filmed would eventually go into the ‘warehouse’. The project that has not yet started filming will also suffer the great damage of a main character replacement.

Ever since Yoo Ah-in’s drug scandal broke out, his works have been put on “pending” indefinitely. The actor is facing suspicions of habitual purchase and administration of medical drugs, such as propofol, and illegal purchase of sleeping pills. As a result, it is difficult for unreleased projects, including Netflix’s “The Match” starring Lee Byung-hun, “Hi.Five”, and “Goodbye Earth”, to be released due to Yoo Ah–in’s ongoing drug investigation.

This time, the K-content industry once again suffers due to top star L’s drug scandal. While global interest in K-dramas is rising, such controversial actors are hindering the development of K-content.
