Five disappointing drama comebacks of 2023

Jang Nara, Kim Min Kyu, and others are listed among the disappointing drama comebacks of 2023.

Jang Nara

“Family: The Unbreakable Bond” is a highly – anticipated drama as it marks Jang Nara’s return after tying the knot last year. it is also her next collaboration with Jang Hyuk, who has accompanied the actress through many works. While fans poured many expectations into the drama, they found it to be rather disappointing. It is primarily due to the forced comedy and inappropriate details scattered across the drama.

Kim Min Kyu

After the “Business Proposal”’s massive success, fans hope Kim Min Kyu could go further by building on that new-found success. In 2023, the actor returned with a main role in “The Heavenly Idol”. He plays Rembrary, a Pontifex who is transported to the present world in the body of Woo Yeon Woo, a member of Wild Animal, a group with little to no popularity.

Contrary to viewers’ expectations, Kim Min Kyu’s acting fell short and the script did not live up to the hype. As a result, the drama struggled to get past 1% rating.

Kim Dasom

Kim Dasom recently came back with “Kokdu: Season of Deity”. She plays a villain who falls in love with her ex. While taking up a large portion of screen time, the actress is said to perform poorly. Dasom’s appearance causes annoyance rather than attraction because of her expressions, or the lack thereof.

Park Hyung Sik

Park Hyung Sik recently returned to the small screen with “Our Blooming Youth” and, sadly, could not live up to set expectations. He was not fit for the role of a Crown Prince and the script itself was not polished enough to guarantee success.

Im Soo Hyang

As the star in “Kokdu: Season of Deity”, Im Soo Hyang also causes controversies over her acting skills. According to viewers, she lacks flexibility in conveying the character’s emotions and feelings. It is more saddening when her previous drama was deemed to be a “disaster”.
