FIFTY FIFTY’s ‘Cupid’ Shine on Spotify’s Top Summer Songs List”
Spotify recently released a list of the 20 standout tracks of this summer. Among them, K-Pop music enthusiasts were thrilled to see Jungkook, a member of the BTS group, and FIFTY FIFTY on this list.
Specifically, while Jungkook’s solo song “Seven” ranked 3rd, the “rookie” duo FIFTY FIFTY secured the 11th position with their hit track “Cupid.” The presence of “Cupid” on this ranking isn’t much of a surprise as the song has been making waves across social media platforms, especially TikTok, and has garnered a global audience’s favor.
Previously, “Cupid” helped FIFTY FIFTY become the first K-Pop girl group to maintain a song on the Hot 100 chart for 20 consecutive weeks. Besides, this hit track also tied the record with BTS’s predecessor, “Butter,” becoming the third and fourth longest-charting K-Pop songs in history.
In addition, other notable songs of this summer also made their appearance on Spotify’s list, including Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” at 4th place, Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” at 7th place, and Harry Styles’s “As It Was” at 10th place.
At present, FIFTY FIFTY remains a hot topic following the legal dispute with their management company, ATTRAKT. The court has currently lifted the request for contract suspension, although the members still intend to proceed with a second lawsuit.
