FIFTY FIFTY Controversy: Attrakt CEO “Anxiety relieved” VS CEO Ahn Sung-il “Charges Not Yet Confirmed”

Attrakt CEO Jeon Hong-joon and The Givers CEO Ahn Sung-il revealed their stances following the prosecution decision

On February 16th, Attrakt stated, “We recently received a notice from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station that Ahn Sung-il had been sent to prosecution on charges of obstruction of business and destruction of electronic records”. Earlier, Attrakt sued Ahn Sung-il for obstruction of business, destruction of electronic records, fraud, breach of duty, etc. following the dispute with FIFTY FIFTY members in June last year.

In a telephone conversation with Munhwa Ilbo on the 15th, Attrakt CEO Jeon Hong-joon said, “My anxiety has been completely relieved. It’s not over yet, but I feel like it’s already over. To be honest, it’s a bittersweet feeling”.

After filing the complaint against CEO Ahn, CEO Jeon was questioned 6-7 times by the police. In this regard, he said, “I must solve the case as soon as possible. There was no reason to delay it, so when the police contacted me, I immediately arranged my schedules and gave my statements 6-7 times with more evidence.” As the investigations are underway, CEO Jeon emphasized the embezzlement allegation, saying “We already submitted evidence in connection with the embezzlement charge. The investigation into that part is very important”.

When asked about his position regarding the decision to send him to prosecution, CEO Ahn replied to Munhwa Ilbo through text messages, saying “Recent articles are reporting the case as if the allegations are true, but in fact, they have not been confirmed. In particular, they didn’t even mention the cases where my innocence has been determined.” However, when asked about what specific cases they were, CEO Ahn did not answer.

In addition, CEO Ahn said, “The majority of cases are reported under topics unrelated to the legal dispute, such as FIFTY FIFTY, to attract attention. Since the content is different from the truth, I earnestly ask everyone to provide accurate information based on facts when reporting the news”.
