“FIFTY FIFTY agency” Attrakt’s new girl group confirmed to be a multi-member group with up to 9 members
Entertainment company Attrakt, which produced “FIFTY FIFTY”, confirmed that their new girl group will consist of multiple members
Attrakt is embarking on a girl group production project with the aim of debuting in the first half of next year. The plan is to debut them by June 2024. The team will consist of 7~9 members, aiming for a concept that differentiates itself with a number of members twice that of FIFTY FIFTY.
The members of this new girl group will be publicly selected through an audition program. Attrakt is known to be giving careful consideration to the internal audition plan. The specific audition schedule has not been determined yet. It is noted that this audition is not for selecting Attrakt’s trainees but directly for selecting members who can debut with the new girl group. This shows that Attrakt is putting great effort into this audition.
Earlier, Attrakt’s “FIFTY FIFTY”, which debuted in November last year, garnered attention when their song “Cupid” (released in February) entered the US Billboard Hot 100, ranking as high as 17th place after debuting at 100th place. It also climbed to 8th place on the UK Official Singles Chart. As a result, Attrakt has been recognized as a representative agency that achieved miracles among small and medium-sized agencies.
Attrakt’s CEO Jeon Hong-joon is determined to replicate the success of “FIFTY FIFTY” with the new girl group, marking their name on the US Billboard charts and the UK Official charts once again. CEO Jeon is currently involved in the selection of the debut album’s songs for the new girl group.
Attrakt is currently gathering songs for the girl group’s debut album from both domestic and international composers. Attrakt has received over 1,000 demo songs so far. From these, Attrakt plans to select 5 songs to include in the new girl group’s debut album. The debut album will be in the form of a mini-album, not just a single.
CEO Jeon plans to introduce a completely different genre of music for the new girl group’s debut track compared to “Cupid”. “Cupid” is an easy-listening song with a comfortable melody structure that successfully captivated international fans. The new girl group’s song is planned to feature a more diverse and sophisticated melody structure.
Currently, Attrakt is embroiled in a legal dispute regarding exclusive contracts with FIFTY FIFTY members. While the court rejected the members’ request for an injunction against the effectiveness of the exclusive contracts filed against Attrakt, the members have no intention of returning to Attrakt, leading to an ongoing standoff between the two sides. As a result, Attrakt is preparing to launch a new girl group with the possibility that they may no longer work with FIFTY FIFTY in mind.
