Fans of BTS’s Jungkook Accused of Faking Spotify Streams and iTunes Sales?

Accusations of BTS’s Jungkook’s fanbase using illegal and fraud methods to inflate the male idol’s achievements have emerged.

There’s no denying the success of BTS’s Jungkook, who attained immense success with his single “SEVEN” and later the album “Golden”. However, many netizens have since cast doubt on the numbers achieved by Jungkook, pointing out HYBE’s “inflation method” and fraudulent behavior from fans of the male idol.

In particular, on SNS platform X, there have been accusations that HYBE intentionally released an excessive number of versions, remixes, and covers for Jungkook’s songs, which allegedly made it easier for “streaming farms” to exploit a “playlisting method” to inflate streams.

Additionally, the combined versions on music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music were said to be “unprecedented”, allegedly leading to the male idol landing on global charts via inflated numbers.

It was also pointed out that Jungkook’s Chinese fanbase committed fraud by using VPNs to make fake US streams, and mass-buy campaigns spear-headed by these fans, sparking suspicions about the male idol’s eventual achievements.

Against the aforementioned claims, however, many fans are defending Jungkook by commenting that the aforementioned was only the action of some fans.

Additionally, it was obvious that “SEVEN” was trending for real, considering the song’s virality on SNS platforms such as TikTok and its constant appearance in real life.

“Jungkook’s songs (are) being played in every store, club, variety show, sports tournament, someone else’s concert all over the world, being covered by some idols in (the) biggest award(s), being mentioned all day by idols, actors & athletes. Must be hard to be his antis in this real world lmao”, said a fan.
