Fans get emotional looking back at YG’s last family world tour 8 years ago
8 years have passed since YG’s last family concerts, how many artists in these photos are still under the company in 2022?
If SM Entertainment is known as “SM Town“, JYP Entertainment is called “JYP Nation“, then YG Entertainment coins the term “YG Family“. This is a phrase with special meaning for those who have been fans of YG artists for a long time.
Nearly 10 years ago, YG was the home to a lineup of not many artists but they were close like a real family. Fans of different idols were also having fun together, barely getting involved in any ”wars”. Unfortunately, after all that YG went through over the last decade, the family in the iconic photo taken backstage of YG’s joint concert back in the day is no longer the same.

On January 1st 2022, SM held an exciting joint concert with the participation of different generations of SM artists. This reminds netizens of YG’s last family concerts with the presence of many top artists 8 years ago. In 2014, YG Family World Tour was held in 5 countries including Korea, Japan, China, Singapore and Taiwan, attracting a large number of fans.

The YG family concert gathered many legends such as Epik High, BIGBANG, 2NE1, Psy, Se7en, Gummy. The artists delivered impressive solo and collab stage and adorable interactions on stage that made fans unable to sit still. That seems to be the time when YG Family brought the audience the most memories.

As YG Entertainment grew stronger, YG Family lost its original warm relationship. Events and scandals kept coming and the artists also gradually left. The powerful lineup in the concert photo that day was no longer the same as before.

The members who have stayed at YG until now are only G-Dragon, T.O.P, Daesung and Taeyang. Unfortunately, fans have been waiting for a long time, but BIGBANG still has no sign of making a comeback. It’s even more sad that even the powerful president Yang Hyun Suk has left the company.

YG Entertainment is still training talented idols. BLACKPINK, Winner, iKON, AKMU and Treasure still bring YG proud achievements. However, the different musical image and management style have made YG artists no longer closely linked and freely interact with each other as before.
Family concerts no longer take place regularly, YG FAMILY World Tour 2014 seems to be the last joint concert of all artists at YG Entertainment. Although many legendary names have left, there are still people who stay. The audience looks forward to seeing more collaborations of YG artists in the future.
