Fans demand refunds from “Dancing Queens on the Road” due to bad concert experience

“Dancing Queens on the Road” is embroiled in controversies as the concert was plagued with errors.

On July 9, “Dancing Queens on the Road” entered the final stage held at the Hwajeong Gymnasium of Korea University in Seoul. Contrary to initial hype, concert-goers entered the venue with much disappointment.

The first reason is the distributed time between the guests’ stages and the main stars’ stages. The event gathered a stellar guest lineup, including SHINee Taemin, Red Velvet Seulgi, Zico, Rain, and HyunA. Even though they are only guests, their stage time overwhelmed that of the main cast.

The delay time is also a problem. While the concert was scheduled at 7 PM (KST), it only started much later due to re-shooting and technical errors. This became a major issue for commuters by train. Some complained that taxi fees could be two or three times higher than the ticket prices.

The shooting process of the program further interrupted the flow of the performances. Audience members reported that they were not notified in advance of the shooting process and were annoyed by the interference due to changing sets.

There were also voices of dissatisfaction with the facilities and safety management of the concert hall. An audience called A said an audience collapsed on the second floor with bruises and was taken to the emergency room.  Moreover, the parking lot was paralyzed due to poor vehicle control, and there was a scuffle between the concert host and the audience.

Because the show contained idols from many generations, many came with their family members. Nonetheless, according to an audience member’s report, there were not any working air conditioners, which made the concert experience more unbearable to the elderly. Some concert-goers also reported that the toilet was located far from the venue, creating discomfort during the concert. As a consequence, many audience members are demanding a refund.

Meanwhile, tvN’s “Dancing Queens on the Road” is reviewing the situation.
